Open House and Virtual Meeting Scheduled to Discuss MT 200 Bridges Lewistown Area Project

Previous Next

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is hosting a public open house and virtual meeting to discuss the MT 200 Bridges Lewistown Area project. MDT and project team representatives will be providing a general project overview and anticipated project timeline. Team members will also be available to answer questions the public may have.

The project will reconstruct 10 bridges along US 87/MT 200 east of Lewistown. The project will replace aging and deteriorating structures with new bridges or culverts. Nine of the bridges were constructed prior to 1940 and the timber structures are reaching the end of their useful and serviceable life.

In addition to the bridge replacements, the project will include minor road and approach construction to tie the new structures into the existing road. Safety components including wider shoulders along reconstructed roadways, new guardrail and rumble strips are also included in the project design.
